Danske borge I
25. jan 2008 18:26, anebystedForleden var jeg til et møde om middelalderlige borge og voldsteder, især på Sjælland, og det mindede mig om, at jeg igennem længere tid har gået og pønset på en lille serie om danske borge.
Her kommer første del, og vi starter oppe i Salling - tæt på min gl. hjemegn ved Limfjorden - med Salling Østergaard ved Åsted.
For ti år siden var borgen i sørgeligt forfald og tæt på at falde sammen, men blev da overtaget af staten og heldigvis reddet i noget nær sidste øjeblik. Bygningerne stammer fra begyndelsen af 1500-tallet og er opført af ridder Lucas Krabbe og hans søn Ivar Krabbe. Borgen udgør et af Danmarks mest uforandrede senmiddelalderlige borganlæg, og den består af fire fløje omkring Danmarks vel nok mindste borggård på bare 9x9 meter.
Man kan se en flot fem-minutters webfilm om Østergaard og dens historie her. Den er lavet i forbindelse med Bygningskulturens dag 2006 om renæssancens bygninger.
Lokalt ynder man at kalde borgen Middelalderborgen Østergaard, og der er en lokal støtteforening, som arrangerer rundvisninger, borgdage og en årlig borgfest. Den har hjemmeside her, hvor man også kan læse om Østergaards historie og få en virtuel rundtur.

Hej Farmer, nu kom der en lille afstikker til hovedstaden, men ellers har jeg tænkt, at vi skal rundt i landet på kryds og tværs (når jeg ellers kommer op i omdrejninger).

Det har været en fantastisk dag i dag, fordi jeg har fundet det sted, min ane, Johanne Marie Qvistgaard, er blevet født i 1782. Nu skal stedet besøges!!
